Privacy & Cookie Policy

How I collect, use, share and protect personal information when you visit liamoneill.pro or contact me about a project.

Last updated: 23 September 2026

01

Who is responsible for your information?

Liam O’Neill is the data controller for personal information collected through liamoneill.pro and through direct enquiries about services.

02

Information I may collect

Depending on how you use the website or communicate with me, I may collect:

  • your name, email address, telephone number, job title and business or organisation details;
  • your website address, service interests, project requirements, budget information and anything else you choose to include in an enquiry;
  • correspondence through email, website forms, telephone, WhatsApp, video calls or another channel you choose;
  • quotation, contract, invoice, payment and project-administration information where work proceeds;
  • technical information such as IP address, browser, device, referring page, timestamps, security events and server logs;
  • website-use and conversion information where analytics or advertising measurement is active and lawfully enabled; and
  • cookie, local-storage, pixel or similar-technology information, where applicable.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary and we have agreed an appropriate way to handle it.

03

Where information comes from

Most information comes directly from you when you complete a form, send a message, book a conversation or become a client.

I may also receive limited information from:

  • public business websites, professional profiles and company information;
  • a colleague or representative making an enquiry on behalf of an organisation;
  • analytics, advertising and security providers used on the website; and
  • payment, accounting or project services used after work has been agreed.
04

How I use personal information

I may use personal information to:

  • respond to enquiries and assess whether I can help;
  • prepare recommendations, quotations, proposals and project agreements;
  • deliver web design, digital visibility, SEO, advertising and related services;
  • communicate about a project, request feedback and provide agreed support;
  • issue invoices, record payments and maintain tax and business records;
  • operate, maintain, secure and troubleshoot this website;
  • understand website performance and improve pages, campaigns and enquiry journeys;
  • prevent spam, misuse, fraud and security incidents;
  • establish, exercise or defend legal claims; and
  • comply with legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.

I do not sell your personal information.

05

Lawful bases for processing

The lawful basis depends on why the information is being used:

Contract and pre-contract steps

To respond to a request, prepare a quote and deliver services you have agreed to purchase.

Legitimate interests

To run and protect an independent service business, answer business enquiries, maintain appropriate records and improve the website, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Legal obligation

To meet applicable tax, accounting, regulatory, fraud-prevention or legal requirements.

Consent

Where consent is required, including for certain non-essential cookies, tracking technologies or marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.

06

Who may receive your information

I may use trusted providers where reasonably necessary to operate the website and business. Depending on your interaction, these may include:

  • website hosting, WordPress, domain, backup, security and technical-support providers;
  • Google services, including Gmail and, where enabled, Analytics, Search Console or Google Ads;
  • FormSubmit or another form-delivery provider when you submit an enquiry through a form using that service;
  • WhatsApp/Meta if you choose to contact me through WhatsApp;
  • video-call, booking, cloud-storage and project-communication providers;
  • payment, banking, bookkeeping, invoicing and accounting providers;
  • professional advisers, insurers, regulators, law-enforcement bodies or courts where disclosure is necessary and lawful; and
  • a purchaser or successor if the business or relevant assets are sold or reorganised, subject to appropriate safeguards.

Some providers act as processors on my instructions. Others act as separate controllers under their own privacy policies when you use their platform directly.

07

International data transfers

Some technology providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where UK data-protection law requires safeguards, I expect the relevant provider or transfer arrangement to use an approved mechanism, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to approved standard contractual clauses, or another lawful safeguard.

You can contact me if you would like more information about the safeguards relevant to a particular service used in connection with your information.

08

How long information is kept

I keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, accounting and dispute-resolution needs.

  • General enquiries: normally retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact, unless the relationship continues or there is a reason to keep them longer.
  • Client and project records: normally retained for the duration of the relationship and an appropriate period afterwards.
  • Invoices and tax records: retained for the period required by applicable law and accounting obligations.
  • Security and server logs: retained according to the hosting or security provider’s operational schedule unless needed to investigate an incident.
  • Consent records: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to demonstrate and manage the choice made.

Information may be securely deleted, anonymised or retained for longer where required by law or reasonably necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

09

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • ask for access to your personal information;
  • ask for inaccurate or incomplete information to be corrected;
  • ask for information to be erased;
  • ask for processing to be restricted;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests or to direct marketing;
  • receive certain information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and
  • complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

These rights are not absolute and exemptions may apply. I may need to verify your identity before completing a request. To exercise a right, email liamoneillpro@gmail.com.

I do not use information collected through this website to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

10

How information is protected

I use proportionate technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These may include encrypted website connections, access controls, updates, backups, security tools and careful selection of providers.

No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. You should avoid sending confidential or sensitive information through ordinary email or web forms unless an appropriate method has been agreed.

You can revisit the website’s cookie settings where that control is available. You can also block or delete cookies through your browser, although doing so may affect some features.

Changing your cookie choice does not automatically erase information lawfully collected before the change, but it should affect relevant future use on that device or browser.

Children’s information

This website and its services are intended for adults and business users. I do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through this website. If you believe a child has supplied information, please contact me so the situation can be reviewed.

Changes to this policy

I may update this policy to reflect changes to the website, providers, services, business practices or applicable law. The revised version will be published here with an updated date.

Material changes may also be highlighted through the website or another appropriate communication where reasonably necessary.
